Essay 7 (A Movie Review)

I like “Star Wars” series. So I will write about “Star Wars episode 4 A New Hope”. This is the first movie of the “Star Wars” series. I saw it, when I was very young. Those days, I thought Luke Skywalker is the leading role. But it was wrong. “Star Wars” is the story about Anakin Skywalker. Remember it.

“Episode 4 A New Hope” starts the story in the space. Leia Organa didn’t escape the ship of galactic empire. So she sent C3PO and R2D2 to Tatooin. Luke Skywalker found R2D2. And he met Obi-wan Kenobi. Luke learned “Force” from Obi-wan. And they went to help Leia….

Did you see this movie? Many funny characters appear in this movie. Also some vehicles are cool. I like X-wing. Jedi is important this movie and series. Jedi is the knight. They save galactic world. They fight with lightsaber. There are used to be many Jedis. But in this movie, there are only two Jedis. The rival of Jedi is Sith. Sith is “Dark side of Force” and Jedi is “Light side of Force”. So they fight each other.

Darth Vader is used to be Anakin Skywalker. Anakin is father of Luke. In this movie, Luke doesn’t know the truth. Because he heard that Luke’s father was killed by Sith. If you watch all the “Star Wars” series, you can understand it.

Essay6 (2028 Self Introduction)

Hi. I’m Takashi. My life is wonderful. Now, I am traveling around the world because of my job. I’m working a music magazine publishing company. I’m an interviewer. Mostly I interview foreigner. Because I like foreign music and I studied English over 25 years.

This job is amazing. Because this job makes my dream come true. I met many musicians whom I wanted to meet them and I respect them. Their stories are interesting. And I can use my English ability on interview. Also I can get along with musicians and join their party or something. Bad points of this job are irregularly. I travel around the world, so I have to stand my jet lag. Many musicians are late interview. So I have to wait until they come. But I don’t care about this.

On holiday, I do my hobbies. One of my hobbies is playing guitar. So I practice guitar and sometime make own band and play. Also I go live show and get crazy. So my life is surrounded by music. Another hobby is watching movie. Especially I like SF movies. It is same, when I was kids.

So now I’m almost forty. I’m becoming like my father. What is called, I’m becoming fat man. I have to work out. But I’m busy. I can’t make my time to work out. I live in Tokyo alone. I often buy food. I think it is one reason. Anyway I’m fine and my music life is still going on until I die. (253 words/8840 words)

Essay-5 (Worst Day In My Life)

I am thinking back when I was the worst. I think the worst day is when I fail the entrance examination of Hituyuyukan high school. I felt very sorry for my parents and blamed myself. My family didn’t show disappointed face, but I realize they wanted to cry. But I cried in my room. I have to tell my teacher the result of exam. I am also sorry for my teacher. I have no choice to go to Kokufu high school.

My high school life was so bad. I didn’t want to go to high school when I was high school student.Kokufu high school life was boring for me. And most of all students lack motivation. But I met great teacher in Kokufu and learned many things. Maybe I studied harder than now. I’m really appreciated my teacher. Thanks to him, I passed the entrance examination of KGU. And I also had to say thank you to my family for support me.

Now my life is happier than when I was a high school student. Because KGU students are very friendly, have high motivation to study English and there are no mathematics classes. I do dislike math. I made some good friends. They study English by way of speaking exchange some students. I respect them.

I learned three things from the worst day. First, I have to study harder. Second, I don’t want to regret in my life. Third, I realize my parents support. So I’ll do my best. And I make a good day everyday.(256 words/7488 words)

Essay-4 (Memorable Day in My Life)

I couldn’t forget the day, when I experienced the live show. It was last summer. I went to Summer Sonic in Osaka. It is one of the biggest rock festivals. That day I saw many bands and artist. I arrived at the place in ten o’clock. The show already started. There were six stages, food area and goods shop.

First I went to goods shop and saw T-shirts. But I couldn’t find good one. On the way I was through the main stage, The Puppets was singing. After that I experienced first live show. The band was The Academy Is. I knew only one song, but they were so powerful. It was absolutely better than CD. I knew that it was live.

I saw many bands after that. But the best live show on that day was Sum41’s show. I was impressed. Because I always listen to Sum41’s song and I knew a lot of song. And in front of me they were playing my favorite song. The audience sang, danced and jumped. I’ve never seen before such a scene. That day I had a very good time.

It was a memorable day in my life. That experience influences my music life. After that I became a rock geek. I go live show often. But when I go live show, I have to go other prefecture. Because the most of overseas bands don’t come to Kumamoto. It’s my worry. But I want to see live show. Live shows make me crazy and give a power. I get of my stress there. I was lucky. Essay-3 (My Favorite Animal)

In fact, I can’t imagine favorite animal in real world. I’m a still stupid kid. I like SF movies. For example Star Wars and Nightmare Before Christmas. These movies have many original characters. In Star Wars, Most of all characters are alien. Nightmares before Christmas’s characters are ghost. I’m a Star Wars geek. So I can say many Star Wars character. When I was junior high school student, I wanted to appear Star Wars movie. Anyway, maybe I like creature. It’s difficult to choose one. But this time I will decide.


I like Ewoks. They appear Star Wars episode 6. And they really play an active. Ewoks are like a bear. So they are cute. They say “yau yau”. They live Endor forest. Endor is subtropical climate. And there was war, called the battle of Endor. Of course Ewoks fight with Jedi. They fight using a spear, stone and arrow. I think Ewok is wise. Ewok’s life is similar to the Stone Age.


The reason of I like Ewok are below. First, they are Star Wars character. Second they have cute eyes, hands and cry. Do you think of me? Am I stupid? But I am that guy. I said before “I like SF movies”. That’s it.


So I chose Ewok. If you like bear, you maybe like it. Before that, If you haven’t seen Star Wars, you should see right now. I recommend it. Many fantastic creatures appear in this movie. I hope you like it.(247 words/6959 words)

Essay-2 (My Treasure)

My treasure is my CD collection. I have over sixty CDs. I started to correct, when I was junior high school. Those days, I didn’t have enough money to buy CD. So I bought maybe only three CDs. I grew up and became a high school student. I had money more than when I was a junior high school student. I used to buy a CD in a month. And now, I buy CDs at least one in a month. Some time I buy five CDs in a month.


Why CD is my treasure? Because I like listening to music badly. Maybe I’m a geek of music especially America and British rock. Most of all my CDs are America and British rock music. I don’t like Japanese music. I don’t know why. I always listening some songs. “No Music, No Life” is true.


Now music is bought by down load from computer. I don’t like such a way. And I some time hear music illegality down load. We should not do it. We should respect musician and pay some money.


Exactly, CD is expensive and plastic is not ecology. But I like CD. CD includes booklet. It is written lyrics and some information. Especially Japanese edition includes translation and liner note. When I buy a CD, I look forward to reading liner note. It doesn’t with down load music. So I support CDs. I will keep on buying CD. I think it is one of my hobbies. I want more CDs. Essay-1 (Self Introduction)

Hello, my name is Takashi S. I’m studying English at K.G.U. I’m 19 years old. I like listening to music and playing the guitar and base ball. I’m very interested in America. Because music, fashion, people everything is awesome. Especially, I like American rock music. I listen everyday.


I met foreign music, when I was high school student. Those days, I came home and immediately turn on the T.V and watch MTV. One day I came back home and put on the TV, one song sounding. The song is “I Want It That Way “. This is Back Street Boys song. When I listen the song, I was really shocked. Because I have never listened such a beautiful song. Then I’m getting crazy about American pop music.


But turning point came. That is starting playing the guitar. It changed my favorite music. I became a rock geek. Fortunately, my uncle is rock geek too. He recommends some bands, so I added knowledge of rock. Now, my favorite music is punk rock and favorite band is blink-182. American music changed my life. And lyric is more sophisticated than that of Japan. American music invited English word.


That’s why, I became to like English. In the future I want to talk to world people using English. I’m using myspace and communicate with rock fans in the world. But I want to live surround English. And I want to experience American life style. I have never been abroad. So I am a little scare.


I’m working McDonald’s as a part time job. I’m very interested in McDonald’s U.S.A difference compare with Japan. American culture mixed many countries. Do you have traditional food in America? If I were there, I’ll try. I want to try different culture food. In Japan, I can eat different culture food, but it is japanized. I want to eat the home of food. There is what I want to do in America. See you on America.
